Delegate Makes Herself into a Human Campaign Sign

PHILADELPHIA -Olivia Love-Hatlestad, a delegate from Illinois, figured a way around the ban on homemade campaign signs at the Democratic National Convention.

“Since they told us we couldn’t have any unauthorized signs, I made myself a sign,” said Love-Hatlestad.

PHILADELPHIA – The day after First Lady Michelle Obama addressed the Democratic National Convention, delegates used words like “perfect,” “inspiring,” and “motivating” to describe the speech.

Maurice Taylor, 43, a Sanders delegate from Massachusetts, who isn’t excited about Hillary Clinton believes that the First Lady’s speech has the potential to sway voters.

“Out of Michelle speaking, something beautiful is going to happen, even though Hillary didn’t say what,” said Taylor.

 

 

DNC encourages Black men to vote

PHILADELPHIA- Daniel Bradley, a National Coordinator for the Black Male Initiatives, Black Youth Vote had a lot to say about how important it is to vote.

During this time of stress in the black community he states there is no better time than now to get out there and be heard.

“Silence just won’t do it,” said Bradley. “Your vote does count. It’s the one thing we can control.”

The National Coalition on Black Civic Participation, Black Youth Vote is one of the many programs put in place to encourage civic engagement. In President Barack Obama, launched this program to empower young men of color.

“Not only do black vote, black men stay active.”
